Balinese Hindus carry a bade buffalo effigy during a rat cremation ritual called Mreteka Merana Tikus in Seseh customary village in Badung regency, Bali, on Tuesday. This grand ritual, held once in 10 years, is performed to obtain divine assistance to eliminate thousands of rats that have destroyed rice harvests in the regency and to free the rice fields from pests. Thousands of dead rats are kept inside the bade before it is burned. JP/Stanny Angga
